If you want authentic Cantonese home style cooking, come to this place.
Hot pot so very good
Super delicious quality food, they have authentic Chinese food there
great place for lunch or dinner, the tofu dessert is a must try
Classic Hong Kong Cantonese style cooking done right. Nothing fancy. Just good food. A good lunch special served with soup of the day. Cash only......
Great cantenese food
Food is great and is always quick.
Good food , good service
Excellent salty fish clay pot rice.
Food was good and reasonably price, Service was friendly and nice.
It is cash only. Always busy with quick service. Great food.
LOVE this place!!!!!!! They have the best beef chow fun and orange chicken ❤❤❤
Our go to place for Cantonese comfort food. They have all my favorite dishes here including rice in clay pot, chow fan, congee, wanton, stewed beef brisket etc. you name the dishes, they have them. When they closed due to COVID-19, I was so bummed out for missing my favorite foods. So once I heard the restaurant was opened, we immediately went and place orders for take out. But we were disappointed as we discovered that foods were not the same as before. One of their stable dish, fried string bean, was terrible. The dish has no taste and the beans were over fries became blacken. Another customer’s favorite dish, beef brisket with tomato, was also horrible. They may have changed their chefs or use temporary chefs for their cooking. The food was not the same as before. I hope they will get their dishes back to the standard before the pandemic soon.
A dishonest restaurant. The final check showed all different three dishes (one vegetable & two seafood) that I ordered share the same price with no name. How was it possible !!This is definitely cheating.
As always, tasty can rely on.
Great food and service
Food is great. Staff are very friendly. Price is reasonable. Highly recommended.
Went there for lunch but each item on their lunch menu is over rice which is a lot of rice and very small portions of the dish you order. They only have dinner dishes on traditional plates with rice on the side but dinner prices are a lot higher than lunch prices. Not a good place to go for lunch but dinner is ok.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
Been coming here many times for many years for their clay rice pot and will still come back for more. This place gets packed on weekend at dinner time, so it is smart to come early to grab a seat. For large parties, you can call and see if they will reserve a table for you. The waiters and waitress are friendly and quick to get you what you need. The Chinese food is delicious and the price is reasonable. Remember to bring $$$, no credit card.
Solid canto dishes. Provides soup with every meal. Known for their clay pot rice (DELISH). Definitely order the preserved meats or mushroom/chicken one.
Pork chops were tasty but I'm getting tired of eating back to back Chinese food all the time. Also had rice and a fruit drink
Hole in the wall, the flavors are authentic Cantonese, service attitude is not good, but I'm here for the food! If you want great service, this is not the place for you. If you value taste and price over service, then it's a no brainer.
Take a star off for intentionally not offering Wi-Fi and power outlets reachable by customers as consumer does expect business establishments offer free Wi-Fi and power outlets since smartphone became indispensable. Not to mention it costs business virtually nothing to provide such service. The quality of food offered is average. The service is also about average.
Good good and generous potions. A little greasy, but typical of HK food.
My life wasn't complete until I had the crispy rice bowl. I appreciate that they prepare it at the table, too. My only problem is that this place is cash only. There's a BofA ATM in the parking lot, though.
Really good food that is reasonable. A lot of the customers appear to be other Chinrse merchants at certain times. I think that says a lot about the quality price and service. Also the staff is great and the same workers have been there for a long time.
Reasonable price and good food
Great service, the price is reasonable and the food is decent. I love their Hong Kong milk tea, it's to die for! The only reason I took off one star is because I've tried a lot of dishes, some of them are not really up to my standard (too salty, too saucy...), but I like most of them, I just have to know what to order.
Known for their clay pot rice! Gets busy after 5:30.
My friends and I have been frequenting May Mei for well over ten years. The food is consistently excellent, the service is attentive and friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable, but there's no free soup... All of these recent "guide" postings, from people who must consider themselves self-appointed experts, really have no clue!
CASH ONLY. Hong Kong style food. Very attentive staff and food comes out quick. Flavor is on par with Cantonese style Chinese food. Does get crowded during rush out but you’ll forget once you get your table and enjoy a hot cup of Hong Kong style milk tea.
Great Hong Kong styles food! Always my go to place for Chinese food.
One of the best Hong Kong cuisine near me. Been coming to this restaurant for more than 10 years now. Only drawback: They DO NOT Accept Credit or Debit cards.
Good CHinese restaurant
Love it! As a Cantonese girl from Guangzhou, May Mei does a really great and authentic job on all their Cantonese dishes. The 梅菜扣肉 & 枝竹牛肉煲 are super good! :)Overall, I will say dishes are a little bit oily, but that’s normal for Cantonese dining places. Highly recommended!
Bad service when ordering food to go. If you can't speak or understand Chinese, you'll be waiting for a long time. I ordered food to go from this place a few times, and they make you wait forever. But it's not because the cooks are slow, the waiting staff just don't care to check with you even if they notice that you've been waiting for a long time. So in this case, my food was ready like 30 minutes ago, but it's just been sitting on their shelf. This is not a one time fluke either so I'm done given them a chance to improve their service (they're still clueless). So, I won't be coming back. There are other Chinese restaurants out there with better service and staff. Also, be aware about what they're charging you - check your bill if you insist in going. I was overcharged that last time I went there and they don't give you a receipt (IRS - investigate this place).
Good food, good prices, but cash only...
Really good quality food. Very nice staff. Welcoming and smiling people.
The go-to place for Cantonese food. The wide selection of lunch specials are amazing for the price. 10/10 never disappointed eating here.
Busy place for cheap canto style dishes with good wok-sear though a bit oily. A must try is their clay pot rice dishes which had crispy rice for the bottom. There wasn't much MSG in their food which is rare for these types of places. Recommended if you are in the Arcadia area.
If you like quality, this is a great place to visit.
Good food and friendly service
Wow, just wow !!! The most authentic Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life in the USA. The servers are all dressed up in their business like attire and were so nice and friendly. I love to hear them speaking their language too, as it gives you a better feel like you’re in China. My favorite dish was the pepper steak stir fry and the grilled shrimp. But really anything you try here will leave you craving another visit. I recommend getting the circular table for sharing and passing food easily. It’s a lot of fun too. Thank you May Mei!
One of our family favorite. We love to come here. The small pot dishes are very good. Good and affordable. They used to be cash only but I think they may change, not sure. I always pay in cash. It is glad to see all those familiar faces still working there for more than 10 years
Be aware this restaurant is cash only. The waiters can be a bit overwhelmed at peak hours but the food is consistently good. The clay pot rice dishes have a nice strong flavor imparted by the clay. The glazed pork chops have just the right amount of sweet savoriness. As with all restaurants that serve pea tips, stay away from the pea tips when they're out of season (after Oct). They do a decent job sorting out the tough pieces but they can only do so much.
We have been to this restaurant numerous in the past. Quality of food is good. Price is reasonable. Service is fast. Cash only.
Authentic Chinese dish and this place have the greatest claypot rice. Also try tge orange chicken. And the eggplants. Great service but cash only. Worth to try. They have also the lunch special.
Food is just so so, typical of south China food. Ordered rice with seafood on top and fried rice noodles, both of which turned out not good. The cashier didn’t give back my change but forcefully said THANK YOU, which means THE CHANGE IS HER TIP!!! So Shameful — Dec 22
Good food. Not so great service. If you're not Asian and don't know what to order... Good luck!
